The Gamakatsu Octopus Red hook is chemically sharpened hook with an ultra sharp point.  

This design of octopus hook is the perfect deepwater bottom fishing hook with paternoster dropper-style rigs or normal boat fishing with cut baits.

It is popular across a wide range of sizes for so many fish species.  If you are chasing smaller estuary species, sizes 8, 6 and 4 are ideal.  For bream and flathead, most people use sizes 2, 1 & 1/0.  The snapper fisherman ideally prefer use sizes 4/0, 5/0, 6/0.  Bigger Species fisherman targeting Mulloway and Kingfish mainly use hooks in the larger 7/0 size.
